2. Our services
Uncrowds arranges private, off-peak, and exclusive access experiences at iconic cultural venues and landmarks. We act as an organiser, coordinating access with venue partners and arranging professional guides where applicable.
Experiences booked via third-party platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, Airbnb Experiences) are governed by those platforms’ terms in addition to these terms.
3. Booking process
3.1 Inquiry-based bookings
For premium and exclusive access experiences (typically €1,000 and above), bookings are made by inquiry only. Submitting an inquiry form does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed only when:
- We have confirmed availability with the venue
- You have received a written booking confirmation from us
- The required deposit has been received
3.2 Direct bookings
For experiences available for direct booking via our website, a booking is confirmed upon successful payment and receipt of a booking confirmation email.
3.3 Accuracy of information
You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided at the time of booking (names, group size, special requirements) is accurate. Please notify us immediately of any errors.
4. Pricing and payment
4.1 Prices
All prices are displayed in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change. The price applicable to your booking is the price confirmed in your booking confirmation.
4.2 Deposits
For inquiry-based bookings, a deposit is required at the time of booking confirmation. The deposit amount will be specified in your booking confirmation.
4.3 Balance payment
The remaining balance is due as specified in your booking confirmation, typically 10 working days before the experience date.
4.4 Payment methods
We accept payment by credit/debit card via Stripe. Bank transfer may be available for larger bookings upon request.
5. Cancellation and refund policy
5.1 Cancellations by you
Cancellation terms vary by experience type and are confirmed in your booking confirmation. Standard terms are:
- Cancellation more than 6 working days before the experience date: deposit forfeited (€250 or as stated in booking confirmation).
- Cancellation within 5 working days of the experience date: 100% of the total booking cost is due and non-refundable.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@uncrowds.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice.
5.2 Cancellations by us
If we are unable to fulfil your booking due to circumstances beyond our control (venue closure, force majeure, or other unavoidable events), we will offer you either a full refund or the option to reschedule. We are not liable for any additional costs you may incur (travel, accommodation, etc.).
5.3 Rescheduling
Rescheduling requests are subject to venue availability and must be submitted in writing at least 7 working days before the original experience date. Rescheduling within 5 working days of the experience date is treated as a cancellation.
6. Experience conduct and restrictions
6.1 Age restrictions
Some experiences have minimum age requirements set by venue partners. In particular, backstage tours at Opera Garnier require all participants to be at least 8 years old. Age restrictions are specified on the relevant experience page. We are not liable for denied access resulting from a participant not meeting age requirements.
6.2 Group size
Maximum group sizes are set by venue partners and confirmed in your booking. Bringing additional participants beyond the confirmed group size is not permitted without prior written agreement.
6.3 Arrival
Please arrive at the meeting point at the time specified in your booking confirmation. Late arrival may result in a shortened experience or denied access. No refund will be issued for missed experiences due to late arrival.
6.4 Behaviour
All participants are expected to follow the instructions of guides and venue staff and to behave respectfully toward the venue, its contents, and other participants. We and our venue partners reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive or endangers others. No refund will be issued in such cases.
7. Photography and content
7.1 Personal photography
Personal photography for private use is generally permitted during our experiences unless stated otherwise. Restrictions set by individual venues apply and will be communicated in advance.
7.2 Commercial use
Photography or video taken during experiences may not be used for commercial purposes (websites, social media marketing, advertising) without prior written consent from Uncrowds and the relevant venue partner.
7.3 Our content
All content on uncrowds.com, including text, images, and design, is the property of Uncrowds and may not be reproduced without permission.
8. Liability
8.1 Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Uncrowds is not liable for:
- Personal injury or property damage during experiences, except where caused by our gross negligence
- Loss or theft of personal belongings during experiences
- Unavailability of specific venue areas due to rehearsal schedules, events, or circumstances beyond our control
- Any costs incurred as a result of changes or cancellations by venue partners
8.2 Venue access variability
Certain experiences, particularly those involving access to performing arts venues, are subject to rehearsal and production schedules. The exact areas accessible on the day may vary. We cannot guarantee access to specific areas beyond what is stated in the experience description.
8.3 Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that all participants obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, personal liability, and medical expenses.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, extreme weather, strikes, government restrictions, pandemics, or venue closures ordered by authorities. In such cases, we will offer rescheduling or a full refund.
10. Third-party bookings
Experiences booked through Viator, GetYourGuide, or Airbnb Experiences are subject to the terms and cancellation policies of those platforms. Please refer to the platform where you made your booking for applicable policies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking is the version that applies to your booking. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
